A power is a gift bestowed by the star signs, the cosmic entities whom guide an individual based upon the circumstances of their birth. In simpler terms, powers are abilities granted to users called Gifted: people who have awakened the star signs dormant within them, allowing them to wield mysterious and miraculous power.

The star signs are the zodiac signs, more commonly referred to as a person's horoscope. They are Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. In STAR★SIGNS, a person's main power is based upon their Sun sign, the zodiac associated with their horoscope. However, this main power is further augmented by a person's Moon, Ascendant, Venus, Mercury, and other similar signs.

Don't worry if you don't understand this! While the main power of a character is up to the player's discretion, augmentations are decided by the staff. For a quick example, let's say that John Smith is a Leo. John Smith's power is super strength, and upon reaching a specified number of posts and paying the fee, he awakens the Moon sign. The staff, seeing that his Moon is Cancer, decide how best to strengthen his power. They decide that his Cancer Moon bestows upon him invulnerability*. The asterisk is added to show that while he may be impervious to bullets and blades, other powers can still damage him - though not as much as they would if he hadn't awakened his Moon!

No! The main power is totally up to you. You can be a Capricorn and turn into a tiger, or have control of fire and be a Scorpio. The zodiacs are only taken into account when augmenting the existing Sun power. We want players to have their freedom in creating powers. However, you are more than welcome to use your character's chosen Sun sign as inspiration!

The signs are awakened when a character achieves a certain number of required posts and pays the fee to awaken them. Sun powers require no posts to awaken but do require a fee. To see the exact amounts required, please visit the upgrades shop.

When designing your main power, please take into consideration that it should have weaknesses, as a Sun power is not considered "complete". Also note that characters will not automatically begin with awakened Sun powers outside of special events - all powers begin as "dormant". Finally, combat-orientated powers aren't always superior, especially in written form.
