[attr="class","appcat3"]Ren is an intimidating type who doesn’t hold back in any confrontations. She likes making people uncomfortable and squirm with her words as much as her fist, although she is trying to hold back on physical violence these days. Of course, this also mean Ren has an overwhelming amount of confidence in her actions to the point of being cocky at times. At least there’s an upside to all of this in which the young woman has a sense of justice. Granted, her views on what’s right and wrong might be skewed.

It is safe to say that it’s in Ren’s nature to learn the rules and then bend them to her needs. Or sometimes just break them completely. Despite the irony that her adoptive father is a policeman and her current career track is set towards law, she is a woman influenced by chaos. Making Ren a generally unlikable person for many, but some will say she’ll grow on you with that toothy grin of hers. Ren can be a very charming person at rare times and something of a reliable friend. It should also be said that Ren has a weird sense of humor that no one can really quite get.

It’s surprising to most that Ren is as ambitious as she is as she often puts forth an air of nonchalance in her day to day life. Especially in tense situations. But that could be the thick skin Ren has built up over the years. In fact, she can be very persistent if something interesting catches her attention. Ren has learned over the years that actions speak louder than words. And that there’s always exceptions to the rule if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. While it was more prominent in her youth, Ren is still a reckless person, especially when it comes to physical confrontation. Just be careful if you see that glint in her eye and the wrong kind kind of grin spreading.

Despite Ren’s outwardly obnoxious behavior and need to be horribly candid, she keeps a lot of things close to the vest. This a double edge sword as she can keep a secret for those most important to her, but she’ll have a tendency to bottle up her emotions. On those really bad days, Ren will keep to herself -- an obvious sign that something is very wrong. During those days, she’s either at the gym and taking it out on the punching bag or at home repairing whatever’s broken that week in her run-down apartment.


Side fact: She does part time and odd jobs around the city to help pay for school and rent. Also internships to build up her network.

OVERVIEW. (TW: Body Horror) While the power isn’t necessarily like the myth of the phoenix who will never experience true death, users can at least avoid dying when they’re set on fire. Or more like they'll never die while on fire. Ren discovered this the horrible way of being apparently burned alive as a child in a house fire, only to crawl out of the rubble like the undead. However, this power is more like use in case of emergency as her capability to cheat death is very limited.


The only useful part beside not dying is Ren’s immunity of pain to fire and heat. Like if she accidently puts her hand on the stove, she’s not going to be screaming despite the nasty second degree burn she has. Even then, the burn will heal up pretty quickly without much scarring.

From what Ren has gathered so far, this doesn't stop her from aging nor does it cause her to be reborned like the phoenix. Flames just seem to heal her if she happens to sustain any injuries at the same time as she is being burned. But this doesn't mean Ren is going to just set herself on fire every time she's hurt. There’s this one horrifying... effect. To completely heal major trauma, Ren's entire body has to be on fire for a certain period of time. This causes her to be burned to the point of being unrecognizable. Ren also loses all cognitive recognition of being human for a moment. Really, it’s like she’s a walking zombie that’s charred to the bones. It also takes a while for her to regrow everything, although recovery time really depends on the severity of the fire. Her shortest recovery period has been five days.
