guidelines
out of character
1. Do not violate Proboards' TOS. Interactions should retain a PG-13 rating, and users must be at least 13 years of age to sign up. If you breach any of the conditions outlined above, you will be banned immediately.
2. Treat members and staff with respect. We have an anti-discrimination policy and will warn / punish users in violation of this rule. Please keep sensitive material to private messages, and be open-minded when discussing subjects such as religion.
3. One character per account. Only staff members will have out-of-character accounts, and questions regarding the site should be sent to these accounts. Do not PM a staff's character account as it may not be responded to as quickly!
4. Face claims should be in an animanga style but may draw from any source. If you are having difficulty finding good-quality images or cannot properly resize them, please alert a staff member. They will be more than happy to assist you.
5. A familiarity with basic BBCode is heavily encouraged! We use a significant amount of BBCode in required forms such as our character application, and being comfortable with BBCode will greatly help you here.
6. When interacting in the chatbox, use your OOC name for ease of identification.
7. Dedicated solicitation/recruitment for organizations in the chatbox is not allowed, though discussion is allowed and encouraged. You may create recruitment advertisements in the Wanted Ads board and post them in the Tagbox once per day.
8. Please try to maintain a certain level of activity. The staff will remove users that have been inactive for 2 weeks or more. If you need to be gone for any period of time, please let us know in Absences so your account doesn't get deleted. Please also be informed that if you are a leader of an organization and you become inactive, your organization will be disbanded.

in character
1. A character's display name should be First Last. Their mini profile should be filled out upon acceptance of their application. It is your responsibility to keep this up-to-date.
2. Characters created must be Gifted. While regular humans will be considered for future events, we would like to build up a solid base of powered characters first. Characters created are made with a "dormant" power - you can awaken them in the Upgrades Shop.
3. Characters should be 16 years of age and older; we consider this of an adequate age where a young person could conceivably live on their own in the city of Hyperion, though anyone under the age of 18 is likely still attending school.
4. Characters should be posted as in third-person only. Likewise, characters are expected to refrain from powerplaying, godmodding, or otherwise acting in a way that allows them to control another player's character. Note: If your character has powers relating to mind control, please ensure you receive permission from another player first before using it on their character!
5. There is no word count. However, players are expected to put an amount of effort into their post equal to that of their roleplay partner's. Do not respond to a lengthy post with a few sentences. Likewise, attempt to maintain proper grammar and punctuation and refrain from chatspeak outside of appropriate venues.
6. Players are allowed to create three characters "for free". To create more, each existing character must have at least ten posts.
7. Players are allowed to control only a single organization across all characters. They are free to have as many characters in other high positions as they want, however, subject to that organization's discretion.
8. There is a current thread cap of 3 (three) threads per character, in order to promote activity across multiple characters. Also be advised that you should only take on as many threads as you think you can handle! The thread cap will change based on site activity and member count.
