[attr="class","appcat3"]So, here’s the thing with living in a craptastic apartment with a lousy buffoon for a landlord: things break. Everything is either broken or will be in the next few days. Then you get them repaired and then the cycle repeats. At least Ren is handy with tools, the only useful skill she got from her group home because someone kept breaking the AC. Even when she moved in with David, it was something she kept up with despite his home being a nicer place. It’s an useful skill to have to keep you from losing money on constant repairs. Or it would be if she had her tools with her.

But you don’t really think about taking it with you when you have to go take a leak.

Ren would love to brag that it was her unexpected strength that broke the inner handle on the bathroom door, but anyone knew it was about time for it to break. She just hoped it wasn’t her at the worst possible moment. But figured it’d be her, when no one else was home, and there was nothing remotely close to a screwdriver. She really should’ve taken care of the door long before this could’ve been an issue.

But staring at the broken handle now on the bathroom counter wasn’t going to fix anything. Nor would the thought of kicking the door down do anything good. Aside from releasing stress. But then the stress of buying and replacing the door would be added later. And the cycle would repeat one way or another. The only good thing was Ren had brought her phone in with her like the filthy millennial she was. Ren clicked her tongue as she clicked on an ongoing text with Palla and sent several texts, unsure if she was still at work or not.

‘SOS!’

‘Stuck in bathrooom’

‘No tools, save me!!!’

‘You’re my only hope Palla-chan!’

Ren added several nose emojis for good measure as it had replaced the typical prayer hands emoji after a bad typo.

Not sure how long this would be, Ren got up from the closed toilet and grabbed her towel. If she was going to be stuck in the bathroom, she might as well get comfortable. The only nice thing about the apartment (beside it being cheap) that it had an tub. A once very gross and very questionable tub, but elbow grease and strong will turned it into something an actual human would use on a daily bases. And Ren was using it, just in a very odd and unconventional way as she got in still fully clothed without turning the water on. Instead she just laid back down, putting the towel under her head as a makeshift pillow and tried to get as comfortable as she could in the cold porcelain tub.

While taking a nap sounded tempting, Ren flipped through her social media related apps to see who could be up for killing time with her.
